2010 Free Groceries for a Year

When: January 1, 2010 - April 15, 2010
Where: USA
Our inaugural Free Groceries for a Year fundraising campaign was held January-April 15, 2010, and we are delighted to announce that this sell-out event raised more than $17,500 to benefit children with life-threatening illnesses. With only 1,250 tickets available, the odds were worth the small expense of just $20 per ticket to give one lucky winner free groceries for a year. The drawing took place at 2PM EST on April 15th at Chartway Federal Credit Union’s Corporate Headquarters located at 160 Newtown Road in Virginia Beach Virginia. Five-year-old We Promise Child Jake was on hand to pull the winning ticket, announcing Mr. Simple Kimani of Chesapeake, Virginia as the Grand Prize winner! Mr. Kimani was delighted to receive a year of free groceries from Farm Fresh Supermarkets, and he generously donated a portion of his prize to benefit family, friends and his church. Given the success of this event, we look forward to hosting our 2nd Annual Free Groceries for a Year raffle starting January 1, 2011, so check back early next year to buy your tickets online, over the phone, or directly at any Chartway Federal Credit Union location. You could win free groceries for a year from your favorite supermarket ~ and make a life-changing difference for a child in need.
